DDJ RB Fader Issue

So ive recently got a laptop to use with my DDJ RB so I can take it places. Loaded the software and drivers up everything seemed fine but the the fader at the bottom doesn't work. I hooked everything back up to my computer and it worked fine. So i reinstalled everything again on the laptop and had the same issue. 

I'm unsure if im missing something?  Holding down shift makes the crossfader function work, but just moving the fader is doing nothing at all, any advice?

Also adjusting the fader in export mode does work.
