EDIT: HALF SOLVED!!

 

 Hi there I just bought a XDJ RX2 and am new to all this so please bare with me!

Ideally I would like the unit to display genre in the playlist screen but I assume this isn't possible?

Failing that, I have been trying to at least filter the tracks by genre but am having issues:

 

I press and hold the Track filter edit button

Then I hit MY TAG and the GENRE option comes up which I tick

But from there I don't see any of the genres and no option to do anything else other than go back into the play list?

 

Any ideas?

I can't confirm this works on an RX2, but you may try this:

Click your device, click the Column tab, then change the right column.

Like I said, I'm not sure that this would show on the RX2, nor if it will appear within the playlist. You could also add the SORT option for it.

The MyTag genre only works if you have tagged those files with that particular tag; the genre is not pulled from the genre field.

Thanks Pulse, that DOES work, I found that out by accident a short time ago! The My Tag isn't working though, as per our other conversation, cheers for your help

Okay, considering this issue solved; will continue the conversation in the other thread re: the MyTag.
