CDJ tempo send
Hi there!
Been struggling for sometime to figure out a solution for using CDJs (XDJs as well) as main tempo together with drummachines. In other words, I want to send the tempo information (MIDI?) from a CDJ to other hardware, preferably without needing a laptop in the setup at all (laptop could be worth considering if I don't need to touch it when performing). I'm also open for using a clock generator (ex. Roland SBX-1), but I still want to control the tempo with a slider on a CDJ, and make the drummachine stay in sync smoothly.
Any help appriciated!
Best,
Mags

hi Mags.
currently the only 'hardware' way to do what you're asking, is to use the Pioneer Toraiz Sp16 sampler which will sync to the BPM of the CDJ/XDJ's via the ProDj link and also sends out midi so you can hook up any drum machines, synths etc and they'll follow any tempo/pitch changes on the CDJs.
CDJs do not give out, receive or sync to any kind of midi clock, they use Pioneer's own ProDJ link format over ethernet.
