XDJ-R1 echo sound bad.

I have had my xdj-r1 for nearly 2 years now and have always had trouble with the echo effect on mp3's from a hard drive.

They always sound very digitized (like a lo-fi bit crusher filter on it)  but it sounds awful.

I only realized recently it's not supposed to do it.

I updated the firmware several times, and have the latest firmware running now, and it is still doing it.  Could it be a hardware issue?

It could be an MP3 issue - what is the bit rate / sample depth of the MP3s you're using? Does it happen with every song? Could you post one of the problematic files for us to investigate?

Gary Cook

It happens with all mp3's and CD's, although not as much as mp3's.

I try to only use 320 kps mp3's and most of them come direct from labels and promo companies online.

Can you post a recording of the output and the original file so we can compare them and get a sense of what the problem is?
