DDJ-SX2 Power Cord is super touchy

Just the slightest movement (not a disconnect, just movement) and the whole board shuts off.  Is my power supply faulty?

Sorry to hear about this, Derek.  It's hard for us to determine whether it's the external power supply or something internal without first testing the unit with another power supply.  If your SX2 is under one year old it would be covered under warranty.  In which case I would direct you to please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region for further assistance.

It's unlikely you have spare power supply laying around to conduct the test yourself but if you live near a Pioneer DJ dealer you could take your SX2 there and ask them to test it with another power supply.  If not, you could pick up a universal power supply that meets the same exact power specs of the original but be very careful because giving the unit too much or too little juice could permanently damage it.

Hi Mark, just wanted to point out why would you suggest buying a universal power supply without any proper specifications needed to try, you just said "be careful because giving the unit too much or too little juice could permanently damage it."

You should be directing us clients to a place where we can buy/get original Pioneer replacement power supply instead.

just an opinion...

The specs are printed on the bottom of the unit.

Universal power supplies are available on Amazon for around $10.  The original replacement was $47.50 and it's no longer available for purchase.
