Do I need a LAN cable?

Do I need a LAN cable?

I have a 2000NXS2 setup and use rekordbox in Export mode.
I have a LAN hub switch with both CDJs and mixer connected and a LAN cable going from hub switch to PC.

I also have my DJM connected to PC with a USB cable.

Do I need to use the LAN cable from hub switch to PC with having the USB cable?
Can I just have the CDJs and mixer connected via LAN and mixer connected to PC with USB instead of LAN cable?

You can link all products together using ethernet, and then run only the USB from one product to the computer. This was designed for new MBP's / ultrabooks which have no built-in ethernet port.

You DO need the special Link Export drivers for it to work.

I believe if you run a USB cable from the CDJ to the laptop and ethernet between all the players then they should show up in export mode. I havent personally tried it but thats what they show in the manual, Just not sure if you HAVE to have the 900NXS2 for the mixer to appear also

I will try it without the LAN connected to PC and see if it works and I'll report back.

Pulse, is this only for Export mode?
If I wanted to use Performance mode in the future would a LAN cable still be required?

BriChi

No lan cables are needed for performance mode, its all USB

Can someone explain how I can connect my Mac to the CDJs via USB - just to access the RB playlists/Tracks (not using RBDJ)?

BriChi

do you have NXS2 decks? If so plug a USB cable from one deck to your laptop and then run a LAN cable between the 2 decks, easiest way

Is it possible to link two players together with no internet or computer ,i was thinking maybe from one player to the other with the ethernet cable but i didn't try it yet cause i don't want to risk it.

BriChi

yes, i do this a lot, connect them directly together, plug in a flash drive and play

Jova
