Both mic outputs on my ddj-sx are distorted.

Both mic outputs on my ddj-sx are distorted.   I have to run channels through external mixer to solve problem. Is there any other fixes for this issue? I have updated firmware and software.

BriChi

in the back of a lot of shures (not sure on your model) there is either a LINE/MIC switch OR if you use XLR its MIC and 1/4" it;s LINE, Have you tried messing with all of that and tried XLR only cables to eliminate if maybe the SZ cannot handle a LINE in mic output?

Shawn Johnson

i've tried everything on both channels 3&4 (which have the mic outputs). Very load feedback it gain on about 2 and channel on 2.

BriChi

channel 3&4? are you have the SX?

BriChi

then yes, the SX has a known issue with the mic which if the FW issue did not fix it then it needs to be sent to Pioneer for something to be repaired/replaced from what I have read

Shawn Johnson

this is my busiest season right now.

BriChi

you can try putting a cheap attenuator on it to pull back the signal before it hits the mixer. Something like a Hosa one that has different DB settings you can plug in between the mixer and the mic

Shawn Johnson

what do they run in price?

BriChi

places like B&H have them for like $12

Shawn Johnson

ok cool. having an extra mixer is a bit much.

BriChi

yeah, that six, especially since you shouldn't have to do it, at least the attenuator is small and not too much of an annoyance to hook up quick

Shawn Johnson

thanks bro. i still believe pioneer should replace this.

Have you updated the firmware to the newest version?  Try that first, and if you have then contact Tech Support.
