Red light Jog wheel cdj2000
Hello Everybody,
I recently bought cdj 2000's and a djm 900, and I was wonderding, how do I get that red light when it's on pause mode?
greetings,
Oliver

double check the "on air" is set to on in the mud of the cdj's
let em try that again (still no edit button?!?!)
double check the "on air" is set to "on" in the menu of the cdj's
lol - no, sorry, still no edit button. We wait!
It Works With DJM 700 ??
no, it works only with djm 2000 from what i know.
It only works with the DJM-2000 and DJM-900.
I've got exactly the same problem as jimmy o brien above, I've connected 2 CDJ-2000s and DJM-900 and have LINK on both. Both have On-Air enabled in their menus, both running 4.10 firmware. But for some reason only the 2nd deck (PLAYER 2) has the platter turning red when in use.
Any ideas why?
make sure the player numbers on the screen match the channel you are using on the mixer
Thanks! That worked fine when I changed the players to 2 + 3 seeing I use those channels 2+3 for the decks on the DJM-900. Slightly counter-intuitive, I would have though the bright white would be "on air" rather than the dim red colour. Still, cool functionality to have :)
Red = stop, this CDJ is in use.
What if you were using another Pioneer mixer (like the DJM-5000) and CDJ-2000 with the control cable (3.5mm mini plug) from the CDJ-200 to DJM-5000 with the Fader Start enabled on the DJM-5000? Would that make the On-Air Status ring on the CDJ change colors?
no
@PS > BriChi is correct; because the mixer doesn't send "on air" status information over the fader-start cable, it won't change the status.
That would be a great enhancment since the Fader Start control is already sending a signal to the CDJ-2000 that it understands (to start playing).
I understand your desire to have this function however the mixer only sends a voltage change over the faderstart cable when the channel fader or crossfader is moved when faderstart is enabled, whereas a LINK-capable mixer sends the info for the player to go to "on air" mode when the CF is open to the active channel, the channel fader is up or the EQs aren't in 100% isolation.
In short, it will not be supported.
Another simpler enhancement with this would be when the CDJ-2000 is in Play mode the Ring Light changes color.
Also unlikely as that would confuse DJs who are using it linked with a mixer capable of on-air.
It could be a simple setup option that could be enabled/disabled.
@PS > There comes a point when you can't have every feature as an Enable / Disable option. Pioneer tries to keep harmonized as much as possible so that the DJ practicing on his CDJs at home doesn't have to (or expect to) change any features on the clubs CDJs before they start playing.
Pulse/Gavin....
Or anyone else that can tech me out on this topic. My gear 2/CDJ 2000 and 1/DJM900Nexus I followed instructions from JG.
"To confirm, the white to red color change will not occur unless your CDJ-2000's are connected via cat 5 (ethernet cable) through a switch like a Linksys or Netgear and it will not function when two CDJ-2000's are linked together directly through the provided LAN cable?"
I bought a Netgear 5port desktop switch along with 3 "5cat" ethernet cables. Hooked everything up and CDJ 2000 player reads Player 3(left) and Player 4(right) correspond to CH 3 and CH 4 with cables corresponding to the ethernet ports as well. The 3rd 5cat ethernet cable I connected DJM 900 Link port to Netgear. Platter is not lighting up RED. Everything else works fine player 4(right) is picking up the link from USB stick i have on Player 3. Running Ver. 4.11. Any help is greatly appreciated. Maybe someone can tell me exactly how to install like a step by step?? Do i need to have a laptop with rekordbox on connected to the mixer via usb? I'm so confused when it should be something simple....I think.
@Hubert > Ok, lets just get things straightened out.
You have two CDJ2000 + DJM900nexus. All firmware has been updated.
You have connected CDJ one to Netgear port one.
You have connected CDJ two to Netgear port two.
You have connected DJM to Netgear port three.
You have tracks cued up, channel fader down. Once you raise the channel fader, the colour changes. All correct so far?
i have the 2 cdj nexus players hooked up with a switch. everything is correct but in my menu on my cdj the player number function just says auto and will not let me scroll to a number.
@Brandon > Yes, they set automatically in the order they are connected.
