[SOLVED] CDJ-2000NXS, DJM-900NXS - wireless/wifi router suggestions/setup

Hi guys

I searched the forum extensively and also the rest of the web and whilst I have found some recommendations for standard network switches, I can't see any recommendations at all for a suitable router with wifi.

I need something reliable to connect the DJM and CDJs as well as allowing multiple RB devices to connect (wired or wireless).

I can't find any technical specifications/requirements for the networking side of things from Pioneer. Does such a document exist?

Alternatively, if you have already done this with success, can you share your settings/hardware choices?

I would prefer a single box solution and preferably something compact and "box" shaped (not something curvy and "pretty"). It needs to live in the back of a flightcase with the mixer.

I'm in the UK, but feel free to recommend models available in other countries. I can easily check availability in the UK.

Thanks!

John

Hi John, not sure if this thread came up in your search but it may answer your question regarding linking RB wirelessly...

http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/21895887-1-6-2-can-no-longer-LINK-via-wireless

Also, the CDJ2000NXS page has this info regarding verified switching hubs:

Hi

Yes, I've seen those and whilst helpful, unfortunately the recommendations only detail wired (not wireLESS) switches. There are no details of what is actually required from a networking point of view.

I'm hoping some people with experience of wirelessly connecting to RB can offer their own recommendations on the hardware used.

I don't really want to be buying routers at random hoping they will work and then finding out that they don't!

Cheers,

John

you can grab a netgear of Linksys/Cisco wireless router, I am sure they will work fine. they are 2 of the better ones out there so I can't see why they wouldn't work for the cdj's
