Recording tips

Any tips for recording on the xdjrx, for example where do people sit the master knob etc,I keep getting too much bass once I have listened to the finished recording after,it's recorded a lot clearer on other controllers I have used ,it sounds poor on this

Peak at 0db. Only green lights and no amber lights. Then you will have run in through some editing software logic, audacity etc to boost the volume. It's a bit of a pain because in a normal club environment you wouldn't mix like that on any pioneer mixer. On a dim-900 for example you wouldn't go over 7db. If you are recording to USB it does not matter where the master sits.

Cheers I keep the levels in the green but the master sometimes in the yellow due to that reason it would record too quietely .looks like I will have to get on soundforge after and boost the volume which can also effect the sound quality .

Well after staying in the green I still feel the recording quality is really poor ,boosting the volume on editing software makes the recorded mix sound a bit worse,it seems the only way to get any kind of decent recording from USB is to mix with 320kbps wavs, normal mp3s sound terrible
