I have the same question. I think that the 48000HZ causes cracking noises in the sound...
Dear friends DJs (Bogdan Krawalski and David C), the last weekend (October 20) made the first TEST DRIVE the DJM-T1, and not had any problems caused by sound Sample Rate (48000Hz) so the sound was normal as is until now! Just like you guys, I also strange (48000Hz) as the only option for Sample Rate, but it's like I'm relating my experience in the last weekend. Normal sound, clearly, without distortion or any other noise! The only thing that is puzzling me (in my case), is the question of DELAY! as I reported in my article (read it please!). I do not know if this is happening to everyone.
