Insurance for 2nd hand equipment

Does anybody have any experience insuring 2nd hand decks / mixer?

I have a set up I'd like to insure but the policies I've looked at don't seem to cover them without proof of purchase.

Thanks

Do you mean insurance or an extended (3rd party) warranty? They're two different things.

Thank you for replying!

Insurance in case of theft / damage is what I'm after.

From a consumer side, that can be included into your household effect/contents insurance in the Netherlands. Just make sure to raise the value the total value and have receipts or the box if possible. Depending on the insurer they will look at the day value.

For professionals there is a similar insurance but it costs slightly more.

It can differ per country.

As a mobile DJ business owner, I pay for insurance for my company to cover the value of my equipment against theft / damage / fire / flood / etc. in addition to the liability insurance coverage for when I'm out working. There is a cost for it, but if you're not out working, then certainly, as @Ves says, it may be covered by your home insurance / renter's insurance. Ask your policy provider, in the worst case scenario, you'd need to pay for additional goods coverage, which is usually per $1000.
