Do I need a powered USB hub?

Hi folks, Ok my library has grown too big for my laptop and am looking to transfer it all to my external hdd. However, my laptop only has three ports and I need four - 2 x XDJ1000 MK2s, 1 x DDJXP1, 1 x External HDD. Will I get away with just using a non-powered USB hub? Or do I need a powered one? The only powered ones I can find are shady looking ones on Amazon. Hope someone can help. Cheers

Hey Stuart,

It depends - for USB-C, you can use unpowered, but for USB-A, I always recommend a powered hub where possible. Go with a reliable brand like Anker, Aukey, or UGreen.
