DDJ-SP1 firmware update issue
I'm trying to update the firmware on a DDJ-SP1. I'm following the update instructions and holding down the effect parameter 1 and the tap buttons on the right side while plugging in the unit, but the 4 sync/auto-loop buttons never flash. I've multiple durations and haven't been able to get it to work.

Make sure the unit is plugged in but keep it turned off, then do the key select and turn the unit on.
There's no power switch on the SP1. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Every combination imaginable as far as duration of pressing the two buttons down while it's powering up.

It never registers the two buttons being pushed to go into update mode. Those buttons function normally under normal use.
Mine doesn't do it either, but mine's also at 1.01, which is the current version, so I'm not concerned.
Have you followed the steps in that guide to verify the firmware version currently on your SP1?

I've got this exact same issue. My SP1 is currently 1.0
It doesn't say to do this in the update manual, but please try switching the DIMMER mode to OFF before holding the right FX1 ON and right TAP button.
Thanks Pulse, how do you turn the DIMMER mode to OFF?
There is a little switch on the side of the unit near the USB port.
