[SOLVED] DDJ-S1 Hardware disconnected (5/2013)

I am not sure if this is a Pioneer issues or Serato issue; I purchased my DDJ-S1 over Numark simple due to the talk-over feature which works great! However, 2 days ago Serato Itch & Serato DJ stop recognizing my DDJ-S1. I read all of the forums and it seems as if everyone is missing one detail....computers ARE recognizing the DDJ-S1 one.....but the application are not: Serato Itch, DJ, and Numark Virtual DJ.

I realized it's a firmware issue because VDJ automatically recognizes MIDI controllers but I noticed it does not automatically recognize the DDJ-S1 now...so that leads me to believe that the DJ applications are not recognizing the DDJ-S1 controller because there is some error in the MIDI communication.

This Controller cost too much money not stop working; I am not a professional DJ but I do gigs.

Has there been a solution to this yet?

Yes, I tried everything that has been suggested throughout these forums which are simply diagnostic smoke screens.

@Charles > What OS are you on?

Did you update anything on your computer in the past few days that may have caused issues (e.g. updated the OS etc)?

Charles Williams

Not that I am aware of, I am using windows 7 64bit.

Doc

i had the same thing happen to me today!  2 days and done... really fustrating and no answers, think i'll take back to

vendor and buy an Numark  ns6 or ns7.  People made jokes about VDJ s/w, you know what it works!

Charles Williams

Its crazy because pioneer & serato are high quality vendors. This is the second experience like ths with Serato on Vestax.

Meanwhile, I solved this issue by reinstalling windows 7.
