DDJ-SX2 jog wheels don't respond in vinyl mode.
So... lots of posts about this. Lots of YouTubes. Instead of replying to existing posts, I made my own topic as requested by a support employee in another thread.
Vinyl mode doesn't work for me. The jog wheels don't respond.
I checked that the SHIFT+SLIP mode is set properly.
I adjusted the touch sensitivity to the maximum.
I have the most up to date versions of the firmware as well as Serato DJ.
I have tried different USB cables and all of my USB ports.
I'm guessing that it's a grounding issue because when I touch the metal chassis of the unit with one hand while trying to scratch with the other, the jog wheels will respond INTERMITTENTLY.
I went through the troubleshooting steps in Q7 on this page:
http://faq.pioneerdj.com/product.php?c=649&lang=en&p=DDJ-SX2&t=faq
My rig is plugged into grounded outlets.
The problem persists when nothing is connected to any audio outputs or inputs.
I tried attaching a wire from the SX2's grounding post to the grounding post of my mixer. That doesn't help.
What do I try next?

I bought a DDJ SX and it developed the same issue. I found a cure for mine, you hold a finger and thumb at 12 and 6 oclock firmly on the top of the platter and move it back and forth a few times as if performing a really smooth baby scratch. Worked instantly for me and its never done it since. I know this is 3 years later but maybe this will help someone else who buys one 2nd hand.
