Hi,

 

I got really lucky and scored a superb DJM S11 and I'm comparing it against my Rane 72.

 

What I like to do with the Rane is recording my Mixes into Cakewalk, but I record the individual channels (right crossfader, left crossfader and rec out, because... why not?)

I noticed I can't do the same with the DJM and I couldn't figure out why. When Serato is open, I simply can't get the S11 to show up in Cakewalk, unlike the Rane... Any pointers in what I have to setup/fix so I can record the individual channels into Cakewalk while Serato is open?

Sorry, the audio drivers (in Windows) require exclusive access and you're unable to use the device in more than one application simultaneously.

You can, however, connect the second USB to another computer (not the same, it won't work), and record there.

Why does this work with the Rane 72 then? It's a much older Mixer. Also how do I record the individual channels from the S11 then? I'm confused. In the setup utility it gives me the choice what it's sending to the computer, but I can't make use of it?

You can't do it. If you want to do that use the Rane 72 then since it works on that. It doesn't work on the S11.

I really hope they fix this! It's a simple driver issue.

 

Currently back to the Rane, since I really need this functionality
