Sound Card for Rekordbox CDJ and DVS

Hi, I'm running 2xXDJ1000Mk2 and 2x Technics 1200 through a Xone92 mixer. I want to be able to use DVS and my XDJs at the same time to have 4 channels.

Is there an external soundcard setup that makes that possible?

Thanks

AngeloRuggieri

Yes, Pioneer Interface 2

Jim Kirby

Thanks - isn't the interface 2 only a 2 channel interface? How would that work for 4 decks?

AngeloRuggieri

It's two channels only (for Technics) but you could connect directly XDJ1000mk2 to your PC for HID mode.

Ok - but then the XDJs will output on the laptop, not through the mixer won't they? I have to choose a sound card in RB to use HID for the XDJs and get them to output to the mixer.

No - if you configure things properly you could use the IF2 for output for 2 channels, then the two XDJs as outputs for 2 other channels, resulting in all 4 channels going to the Xone92.

How do i do that? Do I have to set it up as an aggregate audio device with the IF2 and the two XDJs or is there another way?

This post suggests it's not possible with IF2. I am using a Mac, though.

Yeah, if you're on a PC, it's difficult but technically feasible, but if you're on a Mac, it's a breeze.

Oh cool. is there a guide you can point me towards? Tried it before (admittedly with a different audio interface) and couldn't get it to work.

Jim Kirby

Think I found it. This seems to work (using that other interface - that doesn't work with Catalina/Big Sur)

For anyone looking to do the same thing for Windows, I've found a solution and created the guide here.
