DJM900NXS2 Mic channel hiss
Brand new DJM900NXS2 - Simply plugged in to mains - nothing else connected at all. When switching mic to the on position it makes a continual white noise hiss. This makes it impossible to use for my radio show! Please tell me this is not normal and there is a solution or I will be forced to return it and look for another option :(

Are you sure it's not the mic or the mic cable? Have you tried a different of each of those? That would be the first place to start. First try changing the cable, if you still get the sound, try a different mic with the original cable. If it turns out to be neither of those then you'll know it's the mixer for sure.
Thanks GodsOwn, but as i mention in the post, there is nothing plugged in. No mic, no cables, nothing. just the mixer.
Hmm... just tried it on mine, I have no noise at all when MIC is on, level turned to max (0dB).
Is the noise level changing when you change the MIC level?
Do you have the latest firmware on the mixer?
Yep it changes as i change the mic level. All latest firmware. Not happy at all :(
The S/N ratio on the mic is 79dB as compared to 105dB on the Line inputs, so yeah, you're likely to notice it a bit when it's absolutely quiet, but if you are speaking and there's music playing, it's typically less noticeable.
Although about 80dB S/N ratio is still quite good.
Under normal conditions (e.g. having music playing and using the microphone) you would not even notice it. From my understanding it is very loud/noticeable in your case, right? Is the noise level high enough to be visible on the master V/U meter?
If this is the case I would guess this is a technical problem and you would have to return/exchange your DJM.
