XDJ-1000 MK2 browse/search doesn't work on a computer
Hi Everyone,
I just bought a couple of XDJ-1000 MK2's and everything seems to work fine, but... when I'm connecting the players with rekordbox DJ (performance mode) on a computer by USB cables, the search function and qwerty keyboard doesn't seem to function. It's also not possible to put a track on the tag list. With a USB-stick everything is working fine.
Anyone any idea how to solve this?

Those functions are not available on the unit itself when you're in HID mode (controlling the computer); you will have to use the computer keyboard to type and search.

I thought this indeed might be the case, but the manual is not really clear about this. Actually, it gives the impression that those functions are available in all modes.
But thanks again, it's a relief that there's no malfunctioning on my devices.

Pages 29 and 30 of the manual (I used the Dutch manual, but it's the same in English). It says (copy-paste):
Searching for tracks
! This function only works in the following cases:
When browsing the rekordbox library on a computer or mobile device
When browsing the rekordbox library on a USB device
Searching using the [SEARCH] category
In the library browse mode, tracks can be search for using the [SEARCH] category.
1 Display the rekordbox library.

2 Use the rotary selector to select and enter the [SEARCH] category.= Playing media connected to or inserted in this unit (p.20)
= Playing music files on other DJ players (p.21)
= Playing the rekordbox library on a computer or mobile device
The [SEARCH] screen can be started by the following methods.
— Touch [BROWSE(SEARCH)] button for over 1 second.
— Touch [SEARCH] on the [SHORTCUT] screen.
3 Input the characters using the keyboard on the touch display.
Only the tracks including the character you have input are displayed.
When more characters are input, tracks, etc. including the input characters are displayed.
When the [BACK] button is pressed, the category selection screen reappears.
Ah, I see - that's referencing Pro DJ Link mode, it is a bit ambiguous. I'll pass that along. Thanks.
