DJM 900 + CDJ 900's with traktor
Hey guys! I have done some searching but can't find the exact answer of what I'm looking for. I'm trying to find the best way to do this setup.
Right now I have the DJM 900 connected to the CDJs with audio cables, and both CDJS are connected to the laptop via USB. This is all working great.
My question is, what advantage do I have of hooking to DJM 900 mixer's USB into the laptop as well? I don't understand what the point of that is, but I paid a lot of money for the 900 instead of the 850 so I figure I'm missing something... Thanks!

If you plug the mixer to the laptop you could utilize the DJM's internal sound card when using a DVS like Traktor Pro (eliminating the need for an external sound card). There might be more benefits but that's the only one I can think of right off the bat.
Yes, you can set traktor to external mixing, add 2 decks in traktor and run with 4 decks
