Question regaring Trim/Over...

So yeah , like usually I see the DJM's set to trim which makes the LED indicator just go fully orange not into the last red bitty led.

At home I always keep my DJM arround the "Over" so everything stays green...

Can anyone explain what the Trim does?

"Trim" is the actual name of the control, it's not a setting.  Trim could be "gain", "level" or "volume", for example.

"Over" is also not a setting, it is merely pointing to the top-most light on the volume meter.  If that one lights up, then you know your volume is set way too high, high enough for you to lose sound quality and potentially damage equipment.

The trim knob controls the gain, sometimes you may have a song that is higher or quieter than the others so you need to adjust the trim so it is at the same level as the other tracks in your mix.

I prefer to have levels all green (0dB) with peaks flashing into the orange (+2 dB).

Now I fell dumb...

Actually I always called the grey knobs "Gain" but I didn't know the texts next to it didn't have any meaning at all.

I'm dumb.
