How to copy complete content/playlist from usb stick to empty one.

I did something stupid, erased one of my 16gig sticks

Now i have only one complete stick with playlists and content.

How do i get this copieed to my empty one.

I want it to be the same

One on one copy (windows) didn't work

Btw  RB is empty because of a new install

Make sure you copy the hidden folder on the usb stick and make sure all is copied across,

I think that will do the trick..

Eric Spikker

Thkz.... already found that hidden devil.

First try didn't work.

lets hope for the best....

@Eric > Or you can use another application that allows for a drive cloning - Windows is notoriously bad at performing tasks like that with its own applications.

Eric Spikker

Thkz everybody

It worked fine

Tested on the decks, now taking off to Ibiza.

Hi Eric, could you please confirm if you did a simple copy from USB to USB, or did you clone as suggested by pulse?

Eric Spikker

Just be sure  to let Windows view your hidden folders, then copy the whole content.

Did work for me....

DJ Giorgio

Thanks Eric - it worked !

I just used 'Carbon Copy Cloner' for mac. Works great, and it free!

I tried to copy my files from my DJ usb stick one to my new Dj usb stick two and I can not copy the files from the "PIONEER" folder.

All files are showing and not marked as hidden or read only. I can't copy the files from that folder to my new usb stick!

What to do?

DJ Giorgio

Hi Jason, it's imperative that all files are available and not "hidden" Double Check that they are all visible. Which windows operating system are you using? If you use XP ...

My Computer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> View

Then click on Show Hidden Files and Folders.

Unclick Hide Protected Operating System Files

Let me know how you go!

Pulse

@Jason > You could try what @DJ Giorgio suggested, which will work, or use another application that is capable of mirroring or cloning the drive from a source to a destination.

Dj LexXxus

I have tried that. I'm still getting the the same error.

"The file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

Even after I go select all the files after selecting not to hide them, it still asks me if I want to select all the files including the 56 hidden files....

So I go un-hide them again and it does it again.... WTF?

Any suggestions?
