Rekordbox doesn't recognise headphones

Hi, when I plug my headphones into my Macbook, Rekordbox doesn't automatically recognise the action and I need to manually go into the "Audio" settings and select "External headphones" (see screenshot below).

This has always been this way since I installed V6. Is this expected? Surely when I plug in my headphones the sound should switch from laptop speakers to headphones (like every other app!). This only happens with Rekordbox, so I don't think it's a problem with my Macbook.
