Rekordbox for ARM Support (Windows)

They usually don't disclose this information. 

Of course they will research what this will mean for their development going forward before making a public statement. 

Microsoft has now started the process to depreciate Intel X86 based PC`s for laptops and mobile PC`s in preference for the new Snapdragon ARM processors, which are in line with the performance of Apple`s M class ARM chips. This new wave of ARM based windows laptops are being released starting July 2024. 

Windows 11 running on ARM processors can already run x64 windows programs under emulation, including Rekordbox version 6. However, Rekordbox version 7 will *not* currently run on an ARM windows PC. 

Could the team please take a look at Rekordbox version 7, and see if its possible to update it to make it compatible with Windows 11 on ARM, either via emulation, or preferably, with a native ARM build.

The lovely Gabriel has confirmed in the below thread that Rekordbox version 7.0 requires an AVX2 compatible CPU

The current version of the Windows 11 PRISM emulator, which allows x86 code to run on ARM, does not support the AVX2 instruction set. 

Windows Insider build 27744 includes updates to the PRISM emulator in Windnows 11 to suport AVX2 instructions.

TL;DR - Rekordbox 7 should run on future windows 11 versions once this insider build goes live  - if someone wants to test this now on the Windows 11 insider canary channel, and post back their results , that would be helpful.

Version 7.x unfortunately does not work. Not even with Insider (dev)  build (26100.2894).

You've downloaded the wrong build. Windows Insider build 27744 is in the canary channel. The build you downloaded does not contain the updated PRISM emulator with the required AVX2 support.

I have just tested Windows Insider build 27863.1000 rs_prerelease Canary and Rekordbox 7.1.2.0306 on ARM64 (Snapdragon) and can confirm Rekordbox now runs 🍾 Excellent news.

I was running this inside a Hyper-V so didn't have an audio driver to test playback with. But at least the install + run was successful. The same installer outside of the VM produced the same old error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)"

I Installed ARM Windows11 of insider previw build 27898 and Rekordbox 7.1.3.0322 no simulation, it is able to working of startup. This thread information is helpful to me.
I will do test of operation on actual mixer, etc. Old build version wwas not worked interface2 and DJM-750,850 drivers.
I hope more information for test.

If you run the latest Windows 11 update (25H2), Rekordbox 7 will run! Not out of the box though, you need to do the following:

- Right click the Rekordbox 7 shortcut and click Properties
- Go to the Compatibility tab
- Check 'Show newer emulated CPU features (this enables AVX/AVX2 support)

Click ok, and Rekordbox 7 will run. Finally!

Tested and working on Win11 25H2. Good spot!
