Wave Eight, losing lows at high gain
When the event is really picking up and I crank the volume on the speakers, the wave eight monitors I have seem to lose punch on the low frequencies and prioritize the highs. That I'm aware of, the manual doesnt describe this scenario or any remedy. I've tried different settings and the "power management" switch, but still losing the low frequency when I need it most.
As I'm writing this, I'm realizing I should note that I am using the sonic link connection. I would think that this shouldnt make a difference, but I'll run a test with a wired connection and see what happens.
otherwise, pretty bummed.
Thanks.

I'm curious if anyone is using a third wave eight monitor in the "subwoofer" mode and finding any success with this. Otherwise, these products dont seem well suited for gigs where you need to max the volume (e.g. outdoor mid-size events)
I have a bad news for you, this is how the limiter works on those speakers, by cutting low frequency after a certain level to avoid distortion, I can tell you a third wave eight could add some "punch" in the sub mode, but you still have a 8" woofer so I suspect it is a waste of money... Unfortunately alpha theta and also the many reviews online didn't tell anything about this issue, the maximum output that allows you to not engage the limiter is just "ok" for small gatherings even with two speakers.
I can add that for this reason I'm selling mine, moving to other models, not because the speaker is bad itself but for the lack of transparency of the manufacturer and the poor support, as you can see from this topic that didn't receive any answer in two years
