What options do I have regarding versions when migrating to new computer
Believe it or not, once upon a time I was an early adopter.
But today I still run RB ver5, where I purchased licence to enable performance mode to enable DVS together with my DJM900NXS and two SL1210mk2.
I also use XDJ-XZ, sometimes in export mode and sometimes stand alone with USBs.
It is now time for me to buy a new computer, and therefore also a fresh install of RB. This is where my confusion starts.
If I go for RB v6, will I need a subscription to use Performance/DVS mode with my DJM900NXS?
Could it be an option to do a fresh RB v5 install and just continue as I do?
If I go for RB6, there are constrains for CPU, so I guess I need to choose a way to manage RB before I choose a new computer...
Can't find help? Search our Support Site or alternatively, reach out to our Support agents
"If I go for RB v6, will I need a subscription to use Performance/DVS mode with my DJM900NXS?" -> Yes, you would need a paid plan to use DVS.
"Could it be an option to do a fresh RB v5 install and just continue as I do?" -> Technically you could, but rekordbox 5 is old and obsolete version for which support has stopped.
rekordbox 5 is also not compatible with a lot of the new operating systems.
@Gabriel - Thanks!
Ver 6 it is.
Now my next headache is choosing a laptop. I´m a PC guy and when reading the system requirements it is clear to have either Intel i5,i7,i9 or AMD AMD Ryzen 1000 or later to make RB run.
All computers that I find (and would like to have) have Intel Core Ultra CPUs - which I understand is the latest series. Is it really the case that I need to find a laptop with an i-processor to be able to run RB6? It is only lower models that have this series of CPUs.
As an example: ASUS Zenbook S 14. Top range but will not run RB?
