DDJ-1000 the controller stops

I've had a problem with my controller for a long time. The rekordbox app stops, but the music keeps playing, 1-2 second break and everything goes back to normal. Sometimes the controller disconnects, as if the USB cable had been unplugged. On the jogs, the track information disappears and only the icons light up as if the controller was not connected to the laptop. After a while, it connects again and everything goes back to normal. I replaced the cable. Where can I look for the cause?

Macbook 2015 MID, High Sierra.

Drivers and firmware is up to date.

Hi Tomasz Kozak

To begin with, you are using a really macOS version. I would suggest upgrading your macOS to a more recent version, minimum macOS Monterey.

If you are using rekordbox version 6, try to download an earlier version from version 6 and see if that makes a difference:

If this only happens when your DJ device is connected, there is a possibility the issue happens because of an unstable USB connection.

  • Try another USB cable;
  • Try to connect the USB cable to other USB ports (please use a USB-IF Certified cable that can be used for communication (USB 2.0, 480Mbps), not a cable for charging);
  • Disconnect other products connected to the computer;
  • Make sure to connect the DJ device directly to the computer without a USB hub;
  • If you are using a USB converter, please make sure you use a genuine Apple product for higher stability.

I've been using this set for a few years now and I've never had any problems like this, they started about a year ago, so it's not an issue with the old system. I've played on version 5.8.5, 5.8.6 and currently 5.8.7. I have the impression that I first noticed the problems on version 5.8.6, but rolling back to the previous version didn't help. It happened sporadically and it was hard to spot. I still have a midi controller connected to my computer. I can't disconnect it, I need it because an application for controlling the lights is running in the background. This whole system worked in this state for quite a long time, but recently there have been more and more problems.

the cables were changed, but it did not help, I will connect the devices to other ports at the next event.
