DDJ-800 - Hardware unlock
Hi,
Sorry for the beginner questions :
I have a DDJ-800 that have an hardware unlock for Rekordbox.
When I'm in Rekordbox, free apears in the upper right (in yellow).
Precision : it's RB 7.1.
After searches : RB is supposed to recognize the hardware and automatically unlock itself to performance mode.
Is there a problem with my installation ? Is the hardware unlock (of DDJ-800) can unlock a RB v7 ?
Another question please : in my DDJ-800 box, I didn't fount any black card with the licence key. Is this licence key appears somewhere else ?

I can help you with this. I also use a DDJ-800. What operating system are you using? Mac or PC? If PC, have you downloaded and installed the Asio driver as well as updated to Firmware 1.02?

Thanks for you're answer.
For the driver, when I remember : first time I plugged in the DDJ-800, it ask me automatically to install a driver.
Firmware already updated with latest version (1.02).
I use a PC, with Windows 8 (old laptop).
RekordBox : 7.1.1
After reading you're answer and to be sure for the driver : I downloaded it from PioneerDJ.com and installed it (installation : ok).
Then poweroff the DDJ, reboot, power on DDJ then started RB.
In audio config panel in can see "DDJ-800 ASIO".
In RB I'm still with "FREE" (no "FREE PLUS" if I have understood what expected with hardware licence) and "owner registration / product registration" is greyed.

Have you tried registering your DDJ-800 on this website? Also, have you signed into your account through the software after opening it?
I just played a gig with mine Friday and Saturday night. I had no issues. I'll do whatever I can to help you.

Yes, I already registered the DDJ-800 on the website.
In Rekordbox, if I check Preferences, under PLAN tab : I can see my email adress in the upper right corner. So I think I'm right connected with my account.
Just under (still on Preferences tab), I can see : Free plan.
For you, it's wroten : FREE PLAN PLUS ?
I don't understand what I am missing.

The license key was for rekordbox 5 and previous versions.
DDJ-800 is a hardware unlock device for rekordbox 6 and 7.
Which means it is a plug and play device.
So you can use it with performance mode while it is connected.
But that does not mean it activates a paid plan.
So even when connected, it is normal for rekordbox to show Free Plan.
