DDJ-FLX4 not turning on when connected to laptop

just purchased DDJ-FLX4 about a month ago worked great the first time I pulled it out of the box. now when I connect it to the laptop the only thing the controller does is the lights in between the EQ knobs just blink nothing else lights up.... any help would be great TIA
