XDJ-AZ wifi and loading tracks issues
Hi folks,
I'm sound engineer and DJ with 40+ years experience.
I bought the AZ six month ago and I'm really happy with it.
However I got 2 problems.
First, when I start the AZ and I go to wifi, I'm able to see all the available wifi network.
If I connect to one of them it works great with no issue. However If I do not connect immediately (for example no wifi available or if I don't have the password at the location) and I start to mix, then later during the evening I want to connect then it's no more wifi network available even my shared network connection with my iphone.
I tried to disable the wifi research then reenable it but still no wifi network available.
Second issue is sometimes, it could happen around 3 to 5 times during a six hours gig, I try to upload one song on a channel and I got the message : E-8305:UNSUPPORTED FILE FORMAT.
My solution is to upload another song from another playlist. Then I return to the previous song which was not uploading then it works fine.
I tried already different USB stick, HD SSD, format, re-import, etc...
It's random, never the same song
I will appreciate if some of you can tell me if they get the same issues
And for sure I will really appreciate if this issues could be solved.
Cheers
Philippe

I had the WiFi issue twice before. I had to turn off the unit completely to connect to WiFi again (not easy at a gig). Unfortunatly I could not reproduce this issue. Maybe it disappeared with firmware 1.23 ?
Hi Maikiemaik,
Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately 1.23 didn't fix the issues for me.

Hi Philippe,
Did you allready have a fix? This weekend I also ran into the same issue. No list of WiFi networks after already playing for one hour... They were there when I booted the AZ. After restarting my AZ, I could connect to a WiFi network again.
This weekend I also ran into the E-8305:UNSUPPORTED FILE FORMAT. issue.... Looked like it did that when I was trying to load a mix (large mp3 file) with a time of 57 minutes. It looked like the AZ could handle it well.... I tried loading others tracks on the other deck and it gave me the Unsupported file message. I think it was because of the long file I was trying to load.
Hope they can fix it :)
Hi Maikiemaik,
Thank you for your post!
Unfortunately no fix yet. I'm in contact with the support but I'm still waiting on a solution.
I just bought a sim card router and it's working perfectly with it.
Regarding the E-8305 error I get it even with a regular lenght song.
As soon that I will get an update from the support I will post a new comment.
Cheers

1. Wi-Fi connection issues.
Please have the unit inspected at an authorized service center.

2. Issue where the error message “E-8305” appears
Is the track playing a streaming service track?
Hi Gabriel,
1. Is this link refair also to the service center in France? Is it something that I can do myself like replace the wifi module?
Also I would like to be sure that is really an hardware issue as it's a kind difficult for me to send my AZ. I have contract every week.
2. E-8305 appears only with local files on the USB. However is good to say that I'm not streaming so often. Only request of songs which I don't have in local.
Thank you for your interest
Cheers

Hi Philippe,
I also have the issue E-8305, which occurs randomly during a set. Sometimes, even all the tracks in a folder seem to display this error. I have to go to another folder, load a random track, and then come back to the intented track loading.
It is really frustrating. I've tried converting my playlists back to Device Library Plus and re-exporting them. The problem recurs with different file formats (WAV, FLAC), different track lengths... still the same problem.
These playlists have never caused me any problems with my XZ.
The AZ is really good otherwise.
I hope AT will find a solution.
Can you please file an inquiry ticket here and our support team will gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.
Hi Jean,
Yes you describe perfectly the issue.
I'm in contact with the support since several weeks. I even provide them one of my Pioneer folder created on one of my USB stick. Still waiting on their feedback.
I also nailed even more the issue with the wifi which occur only when we start the AZ with the wifi ON and that we do not connect right away to a network. Otherwise the wifi is working fine and so the return in station make no sense.
Will keep posted.
Cheers

Hi Gabriel,
Could you please follow up and find some answer on my request.
I'm in contact with one of the representative name Flo and I don't ear anything from him since a while.
Thank you!
Hi everybody,
This is the answer that I got from Pioneer DJ / Alpha Theta support's team :
- The issue E-8305 was confirmed and it should be fixed in the future firmware which should be launched around february (maybe later)
- They were not able to replicate my issue with the Wifi. I will see if the next firmware fix it (in case of corruption when I did my first firmware update). Otherwise I will live with it as I can't send my AZ for an entire month to a repair station. As I know how to turn around the issue it's not a problem.
Hope that could help some of you.
Cheers
Philippe
Hi everybody,
I confirm that the firmware 1.24 did fix the issue of the unsupported file format error.
Thanks to the great work of the Alpha Theta tech support
Cheers
Philippe
