HID mode - CDJ 3000's DJM 9000 mixer problems

OK I have my system set up with Rekordbox off my desktop no problems runs fine. I now want to be able to use my Macbook Pro laptop with my CDJ's to control Serato thru the CDJ's

Heres what I did:

pulled the USBs from each CDJ and DJM and plugged into a USB hub. 

NOW: a video I saw says to ONLY PLUG the CDJ usb cables into the the hub and plug the DJM usb into the laptop AS WELL as plug the output USB from the hub into the laptop as well.

Is this correct as they are using CDJ 2000 nexus's?

I upgraded my Serato to the newest version turned it all on and I see in each CDJ there are 2. control modes

1 for the actual CDJ and the other for the DJM

no matter which one I choose I NEVER see the Serato logo on any CDJ's nor do I see the two channels on Serato only one.

One more thing. I have the CDJ's and mixer connected thru the LINK cables m should I pull those out when I;m doing this for Serato?
