hoping someone can help here

I own five (5) XDJ-700 units, and I recently purchased two mint, in-box units manufactured in 2023 to replace some of my older ones. Unfortunately, I’m seeing the exact same issues on both the new and older models — which makes me think this might be a firmware or compatibility issue, rather than hardware.

All units are running firmware version 1.15, and I’m currently on rekordbox version 7.0.8.

Issues:

  1. Large waveform display not showing for some tracks

    • When I load certain songs, the “large” waveform (used for cueing and beat-grid editing) simply doesn’t display.

    • This happens across various file formats (WAV, AIFF, MP3, etc.) and is completely inconsistent — some files show the waveform perfectly, others do not.

  2. Playlists randomly appearing as EMPTY

    • Occasionally, when browsing playlists, they will suddenly appear empty — despite being fine moments before.

    • After returning to the same playlist later, sometimes it reappears as normal.

    • This occurs both via LINK and when using a direct USB stick.

Additional context:

  • These issues persist even with freshly formatted drives and rebuilt rekordbox libraries.

  • I’ve reviewed all the recent rekordbox release notes and found no mention of a fix related to waveform or playlist display issues.

  • Given that this affects both older and newer XDJ-700s, I suspect a software/firmware compatibility issue between XDJ-700 firmware and newer versions of rekordbox.

Could you please confirm if this is a known issue or provide any troubleshooting steps or upcoming fixes? I’d really appreciate any insight, as this behavior is becoming difficult to work around in a professional setting.
