how do i stop playing music through my computer and have it go through the dj speakers

I just bought this for my son and we are having trouble setting this up. we attatched all the wires and downloaded the software but the music is just playing through the computer and not the dj set and speakers

Which controller model?

Are the speakers connected directly to the controller?

Please make sure that PC Master Out is not activated in top right corner in rekordbox.
