so how do i format the drive of alpha theta to it can show it on my xdj 1000 mk2

Hi,

I am assuming you mean which file system to use, and not what sw to use to perform the formatting.

The "supported file systems" for XDJ1000 is FAT16, FAT32 or HFS+. I would aim for FAT32 or HFS+ with the best support in general. These kind of details are always in the manual, which is found at the following link for the XDJ1000:
