DDJ FLX10 Pad FX Echo

I have the DDJ-FLX10 and when I press the 5th pad(the left bottom pad) when in pad fx 1 mode the echo sometimes does not work at all. it is inconsistent. where sometimes it works and sometimes it just stops which messes up my mix horribly. please help.
