Pioneer DJM 250 mk2 4 channel ability in Rekordbox
Hiya, I have recently bought two PLX500 turntables and DJM250mk2 to be used with Rekordbox with DVS. I can see that in Rekordbox there is the ability to activate 4 channels but it says at the bottom when I am using it that the mixing has to be done with the physical mixer and I can see that the 4 channels are greyed out in Rekordbox. Is there a way to use channel 3 and 4 via the software so I can mix these in also. Im using the free version as the DJM is the hardware unlock to DVS in Rekordbox. thanks in advance.

Hi there, this would only be possible with a 4 channel mixer.
I would like to be able to load tracks in chanels 3 and 4 and then use Rekordbox to allow me to mix these into channels 1 and 2.
Hi Lewis, does Rekordbox not allow mixing unless you have a physical mixer unlike virtual dj or serato?
When the DJM250mk2 is connected to rekordbox, it's impossible to override the External Mixer mode setting and change it to Internal, which is what I think you are implying to do. With other units like a controller, it's possible to use the 3 & 4 even with two channels on the controllers, as the Mixer Mode is set to Internal.
Hi Lewis, yes this is what I want to do, I wondered if there were any settings that could bypass this or do I need a 4 channel mixer as you said, the 750mk2 is very expensive considering I am only using this at home, do you have any ideas or can offer guidance on any other mixer that offers dvs on rekordbox
I understand, it's between that or the controller's that support DVS, either the DDJ-1000 and FLX10 (both 4 channel) which offer DVS functionality with rekordbox providing you have a Core or above plan, or the DDJ-800 which is two channel but can be configured as you said.
so I would have to upgrade my plan also then? or would the DJM250 still allow the free plan to work.
The DJM-250mk2 enables DVS with all plans, including the free one. See below.
Whereas the controllers I mentioned are capable of DVS, but require a core or above plan. See below.
