Connection issues between XDJ-AZ and new laptop running rekordbox after approx. 2 hours

Hi everyone, I bought an expensive new Windows laptop (AMD Ryzen 7, 4 TB storage, 32 GB RAM). I usually perform using just an XDJ-AZ standalone controller. However, I now want to access Stems and Tidal as well, which is why I bought a high-quality laptop. I’ve used it in a live setting twice now, and both times the connection between the laptop and the standalone unit dropped after about two hours. When I rebooted the laptop and reconnected it to the XDJ-AZ, it worked fine again. What could be causing this? Best regards, DJane Pure Power

Hi there,

Firstly, right-click the "Start Menu", then you will see the menu below.

Settings > System > Power & battery > Power > Power mode
Choose “Best performance”.

Windows may disable or turn off USB devices to save power. To adjust this setting in Windows:

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click on a USB Root Hub, select Properties, then go to the Power Management tab.
  4. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  5. Repeat for all USB Root Hubs.
  6. Restart your computer and verify if the USB device works.

Disable Selective Suspend

This feature in Windows can interfere with USB devices. To disable it:

  1. Search for Edit Power Plan in the Start menu.
  2. Click on Change advanced power settings.
  3. Expand USB settings, then USB selective suspend settings.
  4. Set it to Disabled.
  5. Restart your computer and verify if the USB device works.

Hallo Lewis Norton,

vielen Dank für diesen Tipp, ich werde es ausprobieren und schauen, ob es sich dann verbessert.

Liebe Grüße
