Rekordbox keeps changing the audio output device on its own

On my main desktop PC where i do most of my playlist management, Rekordbox constantly changes from the output device i've selected to one of the ASIO devices on my PC which bypasses the Windows volume control and plays songs through my audio interface at full volume. Its done this as long as i can remember on many different desktop PCs i've had over the years and i just found a post on here from 2015 where someone has complained about this issue. I cannot disable these ASIO audio devices as i use them with other software.... How hard is it to make software that keeps what you selected as a option in its settings/preferences menu???
