Feature Request: Show All Playlists Containing a Track
Hi Dear Developers
I would like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve playlist and library management in rekordbox.
The Problem
As DJs build their libraries over time, the same track is often added to multiple playlists.
For example, one track might belong to:
-
Progressive House
-
Warm Up
-
Peak Time
-
Closing
-
Festival
-
2026
-
Artist-specific playlists
Currently, when I select a track in rekordbox, there is no simple way to see all playlists that contain that track.
This becomes a real problem when managing a large DJ library. I may find a track in one playlist and want to know where else I have categorized or used it, but I have to manually search through multiple playlists to find it.
Suggested Feature
I would like rekordbox to display a list of all playlists containing the selected track.
For example:
Track: Artist - Track Name
Found in playlists:
-
Progressive House
-
Warm Up
-
Peak Time
-
Closing
-
Summer 2026
Ideally, this could be accessed through:
Right-click on a track → "Show Playlists Containing This Track"
or through a dedicated column/panel in the Track Information area.
Clicking a playlist from this list could also immediately open that playlist.
Why This Would Be Useful
This feature would make library management much faster and more intelligent.
It would help DJs:
-
Understand how they have organized their music.
-
Find duplicate or redundant playlist categorization.
-
Move or reorganize tracks more efficiently.
-
Discover playlists where a track has already been categorized.
-
Avoid creating unnecessary duplicate playlists.
-
Maintain large libraries more easily.
-
Prepare sets faster when working with hundreds or thousands of tracks.
This is especially important for professional DJs who may have tens of thousands of tracks and hundreds of playlists.
A Small Feature With a Big Impact
The important point is that this would not require changing the existing playlist system.
The information already exists in rekordbox because rekordbox knows which tracks belong to which playlists. The feature would simply expose that relationship in the user interface.
In other words, rekordbox currently allows us to navigate:
Playlist → Tracks
but it would be extremely useful to also navigate:
Track → Playlists
This reverse relationship would make the library much easier to understand and manage.
I believe this would be a very valuable quality-of-life improvement for both professional and advanced rekordbox users.
Thank you for considering this feature request.

This already exists. See link below. Although I think you are reffering to tags in some cases rather than playlists, so you'd have to create intelligent playlists based on your tags to see them as "playlist" within this feature.

I mean exactly Playlists, not Tags.
Tags are generally used to define specific characteristics of a track, such as something a DJ has configured according to their own personal system for categorizing or describing a track.
What I’m suggesting, however, is specifically related to Playlists. In the Search section, when you search for a track, you should be able to see which Playlists that track is included in.
For example, if you search for Argy - Aria, the system should show that this track is included in these three Playlists:
High Energy
Melodic Techno
Main Stage
This feature would make it much easier to quickly see which different situations, styles, or scenarios you have placed a particular track into across your Playlists.
I think this could be implemented when you right-click on a track and select Add to Playlist. Next to each playlist that the track has already been added to, it could display “Already Added.”
