*OPUS QUAD No “Slip Mode”, use these Rev/Slip Tricks!

Regarding “slip mode” for the OPUS QUAD or shall I say the lack of it.

I see owners asking for this one all the time on social media and rightfully so. It should have come with it for the price of admission.

I’m still in shock slip mode hasn’t been added in yet along with the four stack waveform view that the AZ recently got.

Also MIA (Missing In Action) is a standalone cross & channel fader start option that is currently only available through Serato and a gate cue option for the eight upper pads. Lastly, Updated FX such as Mobius would have been nice welcomed addition as well!😟

It seems the OPUS QUAD is not receiving any love from Pioneer DJ. 😢

So here’s a cool tricks I thought would pass on..

Simply hold down the “rev/slip” (censor button) while you’re actively scratching away on the deck.

It’s as simple as that.

When you’re finished scratching just let go of everything at the same time and the music will continue playing from a forward timestamp exactly where the track should be vs that same exact moment if you had no rev/slip mode.

There you have it.. “slip mode” on the OPUS QUAD (well sort of). 😊

Basically, you’re using “rev slip” to scratch and slip. You can even add a touch of “echo” for an even more impactful effect.

The only downside to this is you can’t use the crossfader at the same time to scratch and slip. To scratch without slip yes.

This is why a real dedicated “slip mode” would be beneficial.

This is also a really great trick to use for quick & short spin backs as well.

The rev/slip button can also aid in getting out of a hard open format mix by making the transition easier. Just add a touch of the rev/slip while you crossfade over to the incoming track. You can even turn on smooth echo on to enhance this effect.

Hopefully, at some point the gods at Pioneer DJ will add the four waveform view as well.

OPUS QUAD owners deserve it. Four waveform view is essential for four deck mixing.

Yes, I realize they included two extra screens. However, those are only to mimic what would be on the center of the jog screen display. Useful to a point.

But they don’t come close to being as helpful with four deck mixing in the same way a dedicated four stack waveform view would. 😊

Yes, I'm very sad that such a wonderful device doesn't have an update :-( AZ got the 4 player update and the Spoti integration too! We who paid the same amount for it got nothing! :-(
